There are perhaps no days of our childhood we lived so fully as those we spent with a favorite book. ~ Marcel Proust

Many thanks to Stani at Thoughts Poetry Anything for honoring me on March 13th and Tina at Fine Living for honoring me on March 16th with this award.  I am truly honored an humbled.  I guess this means I really need to step it up and actually write on this blog to show my actual worthiness.  I really do appreciate the recognition and hope everyone who stops by checks out Stani’s and Tina’s sites as well.

Now for the rules:
“When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to the said person so everyone knows she/he is real. Choose a minimum of seven (7) blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have seven friends. Show the seven random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with Honest Weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten (10) honest things about yourself. Then pass it on!”
Wow, ten honest things about me.  Where to begin.
  1. I often wonder what I did right to deserve the three wonderful kids I have.  They truly amaze me, often.
  2. My favorite color is green.  My mom tried to make me think it was pink, but it is definitely green, or any earth tone color I happen upon.
  3. Ever since I can remember I wanted to be a doctor (cardiologist to be exact) and writer when I grew up.  I became a bookkeeper.  Maybe this just means I have not grown up yet.
  4. I love math and reading and writing.  Most people find this odd.
  5. I miss watching episodes of The Three Stooges and The Little Rascals.  ”Hey Moe!”
  6. My favorite book is Jonathan Livingston Seagull.  My mom gave it to me to read when I was 8 or 9 years old although she did not read it until some 25 years later.
  7. Chicken is a word used often in our house.  And, yes, there is a story behind it.
  8. I love to exercise, but am terrible about disciplining myself in keeping a schedule.  One of these days I will get it together.  I did for 10 months prior to losing my job.
  9. I like to read and watch television at the same time.  It is hard for me to just watch television so I need something else to occupy me.  Sometimes I do word puzzles.
  10. My kids and I enjoy playing educational-type games like Scrabble or Boggle even when we can play a video game such as the Wii.
That was harder than it looks.  Now I have to pass this award to 7 blogs I find worthy of such an honor.  This is extremely hard for me as I follow so many great blogs and there are some truly talented and wonderful bloggers out there.  So, instead I am going to break with tradition and do the unthinkable.  Yes, it is true.  I am going to honor everyone who stops by my blog with this award.  Okay, well not forever.  Let’s say anyone who stops by my blog by midnight Wednesday, March 18th should be so honored to share their Honest Scrap.  Be sure to leave a comment so I can come read all about you.  CONGRATULATIONS!
